Oil Workshop Materials List
I’m always trying new pigments and different colors and how they work together. The very nature of color is of more concern to me than anything else. Is the color warm or cool? That’s a big thing to me. I use different palettes for different subjects. This is a basic palette that works for me:
PIGMENT:
• Cadmium Red Light
• Thalo Blue
• Alizarin Crimson
• Ultramarine Blue
• Hansa or Lemon Yellow
• Sap or Veridian Green
• Cadmium Yellow Light
• Titanium White
• Cadmium Orange
• Yellow Ochre
• Cobalt Blue
• Burnt Sienna
CANVAS:
No less than 16” x 20”; stretched, canvas board, masonite or other preferred surface. Bring at least 2 canvases for each class day.
BRUSHES
• 1 ½ - 2” Flat
• #16 Bright
• #10 Bright
• #6 Bright
• #4 Rigger
OTHER SUPPLIES:
Easel, Paper Towels, Containers for clean or washing brushes, Odorless Turpentine, Mineral Spirits, Palette, Pencil, Notepad and anything else that you like or will make you feel comfortable
